Obscure error message: "unable to allocate pixels for the bitmap"

I don't know what's causing this, but everytime I open my MAUI solution, the error panel shows this error: "unable to allocate pixels for the bitmap":

This issue may be related to #32460

This issue may be a duplicate of #12109. However, that other issue is closed as "solved". Apparently, it isn't.
