Errors scanning M4A files encoded with E-AC3 in LMS 3.72.x

On the latest LMS versions (3.72.x), the library scan fails when it encounters M4A files encoded with the E-AC3 codec.

During the scan, the following error appears:

[error] [DB UPDATER] Failed to parse audio file

This issue occurs only on 3.72.x versions. Previous versions scan the same files without any problem.

It might be related to lms-audioinfo, since the error happens as soon as the audio metadata is being read.

Ok I see the issue: taglib doesn't recognize the audio stream of this file, and I unified tag and audio properties parsing in v3.72.0.
Is that issue really important to you? I mean: do you have a lot of files you can't reencode?

It’s not a critical issue for me, but I do have a large number of albums and tracks in Dolby Atmos (E-AC3) that I use with my soundbar and TVs through Symfonium. Re-encoding all of them would be quite inconvenient.

If it’s possible to adjust this in a future update, I’d really appreciate it, or at least keep it in consideration for later fixes.

They are now scanned again, but I noticed they can't be listen to in the web interface of LMS. Browsers cannot read the original stream but LMS fails to create a transcoded stream due to channel layout limitations of the target codec. TBC
